Workplaces are now hives of collaboration. Documents are shared and worked on together. It seems no one person is responsible and no one person is in charge of the process. In light of how writing is often done at work, participants were asked to consider how writing is done in their workplaces and how to change those parts of the process that don’t work well.

Carol is an experienced nurse educator with a passion for person-centred health care, health literacy, health equity, and clear communication. In our first virtual event of the season, Carol described her journey to bring plain language into health care. She talked about how passion, persistence, and partnerships can pay off and improve care.

After a quick overview of AI tools for writing and editing, Cheryl Stephens showed participants how to engineer the most effective AI prompts and how their understanding of rhetoric and plain language could help them create prompts.
